Catherine of Siena presents a Religious Education Program based on the Archdiocesan guidelines. The purpose of this program is to help and guide you and your family, to further develop your relationship with God, nurturing a real relationship to Jesus and the Father in the Holy Spirit (NCD #173).
This is the perfect time to start thinking about CCE which will begin the first Sunday after Labor Day, that is September 8. We have both new and returning teachers this coming fall/spring semester, and of course, a few who are taking a break. But, we are organized and ready to go.
There are a few changes to the CCE program for the upcoming fall/spring semester for 2019/2020:
Firstly, the CCE class will only be for one hour 9:30 -10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The hour and a half we previously had, exhausted both the little ones and the teachers and that was after or before they went to mass with their family. The eternal complaint was that the morning was far too long. Now, this will mean you will either have to come to the Saturday 5:00 p.m. evening mass, or to the 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning mass. Once the CCE class lets out at 10:30 a.m. you, the parent/s or guardian is/are solely responsible for your child/ren. We cannot take on the responsibility (or the liability) to babysit or monitor your little ones. This might not suit everyone, but now is the time to decide if this is a good fit for you and your child/ren.
If you would like to register your child/ren for the 2019/2020 school year, please contact me (Fr. Niall) so I can meet you, update your current contact information, and discuss any and all issues or concerns you may have.
Don’t leave this until the last minute; email me and organize a 15-minute meeting any day that suits you and me or we can arrange to meet before/after the weekend masses. This meeting needs to take place by September 1st as we will be closing all CCE registration by Labor Day so we can organize the rosters and materials for the first day of class. There will be no “drop off” of any unregistered child on the first day of CCE.
Fr. Niall leads a lively discussion on the Bible for all who wish to join. A morning session (on Thursday) and an evening session (on Wednesday) are offered weekly. (Schedule changes during holidays.)
