These tours and outings in and around the Houston area are open to St. Catherine Parishioners and their invited guests age 50 and older.
Come on an adventure with us!
Join us for a delightful excursion to San Marcos! Our first stop is the Meadow Center, formerly known as Aquarena Springs. We will tour Spring Lake on a glass-bottomed boat and view the exhibits and aquarium in Discovery Hall. We can then recount our nautical adventures at Grins Restaurant, a casual eatery that is a favorite of locals and university students and alumni. Finally, we’ll visit the campus of Texas State for a guided tour of the Wittliff Collections, which is dedicated to sharing the creative legacy of the Southwest’s literary, photographic, and musical arts. We will depart from St. Catherine of Siena at 7:15 am on Tuesday, October 19 and return by about 6:00 pm.
Important Notes: This trip includes a lot of walking as well as steep stairs to board the boat. We will also use masks while inside the library space that houses the Wittliff Collections. If mobility or face coverings are an issue for you, we suggest you join us on another bus trip.
Tickets are $10 (lunch is on your own) on a first-come, first-served basis. We are limited for this trip to 20 people due to the size of the boat.
