From Nicky Scott, your new 50+Bus Trip Coordinator, and Audrey Nelson, co-coordinator

Our January bus trip will take us North of Houston to Huntsville. We will first stop at Big Sam, the 67 foot tribute to one of Texas’s greatest heroes, Sam Houston. We will visit the statue and the Huntsville Visitor center. You can also get a picture with Sam at the monument.
Second stop is the Texas Prison Museum for an intriguing glimpse into the lives of the states’s imprisoned citizens. The museum features numerous exhibits from the days of Bonnie and Clyde, different types uniforms worn by prison guards, the Texas Rangers, as well as other memorabilia detailing the history of the Texas prison system.
Third stop is to the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Library and Gardens. There is some walking involved, however, a golf cart is available for those who may need additional assistance, so don’t let that deter you from coming.
Lastly and importantly, Lunch, which you are responsible for. We will visit the CityHall Cafe and Pie Bar for some American Comfort food before heading back down I45 to the church.
Depart St. Catherine’s 8:00am and return by 4pm.

Please plan on getting to St. Catherine's 15 minutes before we are due to leave so that you can get yourselves sorted and use the facilities if need be.

Dinner at Katie’s Seafood House in Galveston followed by Leap of Faith musical at Island ETC Theatre.

Visit to Archway Gallery and Rothko Chapel, shopping at Charity Guild, lunch at Katz’s Deli.

Wine tasting of Italian Wines and dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy.

Attending White Christmas at Owen Theatre with dinner at Tuscany Italian Grill.

Learning about cotton ginning at Texas Cotton Gin Museum followed by lunch at Burton Short Stop and feeding Alpacas at Peeka Ranch.

Visit to San Jacinto Battleground and Buffalo Soldiers National Museum with lunch at Mandola’s Deli.

Watching Steel Magnolias at CAST Theatrical in Rosenberg followed by dinner at Los Gallitos Mexican Café.

Tour of Hemi Hideout followed by shopping at Brookwood and lunch at Midway BBQ.
